Our story

It started in a living room.

Carolina Family Services was created to meet a need for quality, family-based community services in Upstate South Carolina. What began in Jennifer's living room has grown into an organization serving families across the region.

Growth changed our reach, not our purpose. We remain committed to care that respects the whole family, responds to real-life needs, and helps people move toward greater stability and connection.

A message from our CEO

Our success can be attributed not only to our amazing team, but also to our ingrained belief that all families matter. We will continue to focus on providing the best family-based services in the state, and that commitment to families will be evident in all of our programs and services.

How we show up

Care should fit real life.

Our services are built around people, relationships, and the communities families call home.

Family-centered by design

We consider the relationships, routines, strengths, and circumstances surrounding each person—not only the problem that brought them through the door.

Present in the community

Care may happen in our offices, at participating schools, in the home or community, or through telehealth when appropriate.

Clear paths to support

Our Intake team helps families and referral partners understand eligibility, coverage, and what happens next.

The next chapter

Still growing. Still grounded.

As Carolina Family Services enters its third decade, our focus remains the same: make compassionate, family-centered care easier to understand and easier to reach.
