South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN)

The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) determines the eligibility for children over three years old. If your child is three to six years old and you would like to receive Early Intervention services, click on the link below for the DDSN Referral Form. Carolina Awesome Steps (Early Intervention)

Carolina Awesome Steps serves children birth to six years old who are at risk for a developmental delay. The Early Interventionists from Carolina Awesome Steps conduct home visits, treatment planning, referrals, and give parental support. The program focuses on improving children’s cognitive development, gross and fine motor skills, communication skills, emotional and social skills, adaptive and self-help skills, as well as other issues concerning to the parents.
